As a rule, I don’t include students – PhD or other, working with me or not – on my social media network.
Sorry – it’s nothing personal.
I fear this can escalate to students racing to make themselves look fancy by knowing this or that person. At that stage, shine through your excellent work and promote it at conferences, build your network in person and through emails, giving people pointers and/or asking for help.
